"Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him
with joyful songs."
~ Psalm 100:2

How do you go about getting a web site developed?

Let's take a peek behind the scenes of a web site...
First, there is the hosting company. There are MANY out there. I have chosen one hosting company to work with. In the past seven years, I have found this company to be the most reliable, and they offer the most features for the price that they offer.

The First Step: Purchasing Your Domain Name
The first step is to purchase your domain name. For example, www.yourdomain.com. The hosting company that I deal with offers the purchase of the domain name as part of some of the hosting plans, so it doesn't cost any extra. If you decide a year down the road that you would like to switch hosts, then you would have to pay for the domain name when your year expires. Now there are many things to think about when purchasing your domain name. First, it has to suit your vision for the site. Second, it should be easy to remember. And lastly, and most obvious, it must not be taken already. The relativity of your site's name to your site will help with search engine optimization (SEO).

To take the first step and purchase your domain name, click on the banner below, pick a plan, and click "get started". This allows you to search for domain names and see their availability. By the time you are done, you will have purchased your domain name! How exciting.

The Second Step: Designing Your Web Site
The second step is to find a web designer that you trust, that is reliable and that you feel comfortable working with. For me, this is the best part; meeting, discussing, planning!
We will discuss information that will enable me to get started on your web site. Some of those things are the intended purpose of your site, as well as layout, color preferences, and more.

During this first meeting, I will provide you with a quote for designing your web site. I will also discuss helpful reports that will be given to you. Some questions that you should ask yourself before this initial meeting are:

• Is your web site meant to entice potential clients?
• Do you have merchandise to show off and/or sell?
• What colors do you prefer? What type of style do you like?
• Do your company have a logo?

• Do you have photographs or do you need some taken?

What happens after your web site is complete and you would like some changes?
No problem, I am here to help you. I will update your site weekly, monthly or however you decide you need it done. We can work out a monthly fee for updates, or you can pay a hourly fee. What you cannot do is update the web site on your own. I have not had this be an issue for anyone as of yet, so I don't forsee it being a problem. I am easy to work with, as I LOVE what I do.

What are some of the web site reports that I provide?
I can provide many reports on your web site's visitors... ie... where they live, which web site they came from, where they went when they left your site, which pages they viewed, keywords and search engines used to find your site and where the search led them, as well as other reports on their browsing configuration. These reports will help you decide if you need to change or update your page content or keywords.

This chart shows the most recent search terms that people used and the landing page they would go to if they clicked the link. From this chart you can also view where your site pages rank on the search engine pages. You can also magnify each user to find out which pages they came into, the visitor's path, as well as which page they left from:

Chart 2 shows where the most recent visitors were from; (city, state). By clicking on the marker for that visitor, you can also see concentrated information on that user, such as IP address, their visit length, and how many times they have visited your web site.

So you see, there is so much information available to help when designing your web site which should be utilized on a weekly basis.
